Fragrance & Essential Oils · 38 oils

A collection is a pre-vetted shortlist — oils we’ve already screened against a specific use, season, or celebration, so you’re not testing your way through 300 SKUs to find the six that work. Every oil in a collection is also sold on its own; the collection is the curation, not a different product.

Día de losMuertos

Ten scents drawn from the ofrenda itself — marigold, copal resin, spiced coffee, sweet bread. Rooted in the real vocabulary of the celebration rather than a generic autumn palette.

  • Built around the ofrenda — the flower, the resin, the food actually set out.
  • Peak season is short. Order by early September to produce for late October.
  • Reads as a set. They layer without fighting each other in a bundle.
Seasonal · October

MidnightBotanica

Eight scents from a garden that only opens after dark — heavy florals, damp earth, spice gone soft, and fruit just past its best. Adult and romantic rather than novelty: Halloween without the plastic skeletons.

  • Built as a range, not a theme. A floral, an earth, a gourmand and a chypre, so one collection covers three different customers.
  • Widest technical spread we have released. One oil is CP-soap safe, two hold a true white base, and the rest are documented so you know before you batch.
  • Peak season is short. Order by early September to produce for the first weeks of October.
Seasonal · Sep–Feb

GuiltyPleasures

Seven gourmands for the back half of the year with no pumpkin anywhere in sight. Sugar, dairy and fried dough instead of the usual seasonal botanicals — and a season that runs right through the holidays.

  • Gourmand, not harvest. No pumpkin, no spiced leaf, no cider, so your line does not smell like every other fall release.
  • Sorted by discoloration. Vanillin runs 0.1% to 19.2% across the seven. Three hold a white base; one goes all the way to caramel.
  • The season is long. September through Valentine’s, so a single run covers two gifting peaks.

Sweater Weather

An ode to the luxury of doing absolutely nothing. Seven cosy autumn scents, from a slow porch-side coffee to an evening at the fall fair — and the first collection we have built in daylight.

  • Seven oils: five gourmands, one spiced chai, one autumn floral.
  • Three rated for cold process: Snuggle Season, Off the Clock, Harvest Market Floral.
  • Watch the vanillin: from ~1% in Fall Retreat to ~10% in Cozy Carnival.
Vetted for leave-on facial

Facial CareScents

Six oils chosen for what they leave out. Facial products sit on the most reactive skin on the body, all day, so this shortlist skips the heavy sensitizers and the oils that discolor a white cream.

  • Chosen for gentleness in leave-on facial use — not just skin-safe generally.
  • Low-sensitizer profile. Common facial irritants excluded rather than merely limited.
  • Won’t discolor. Tested in our white lotion and cream bases for yellowing over time.
  • Restrained at low use rates. These hold their character at 0.2–0.5%.
Holds through heat & rinse

HaircareScents

Seven oils that survive the wash. Haircare is the hardest place to scent — surfactants strip a fragrance, heat styling flashes off the top notes, and most of the product goes down the drain before it ever dries.

  • Surfactant-stable. Holds up in sulfate and sulfate-free shampoo systems.
  • Survives heat styling. Enough mid and base note to still read after a blow dryer.
  • Substantive on the strand. Selected for scent that lingers past the rinse.
  • Clear in clear bases. No clouding in transparent shampoo and gel.

We put these together because customers kept asking the same question. If you’re formulating for a category or a season we haven’t covered, tell us — that’s usually how the next one starts.

The Essentials by Catalina difference: purity matters

Many oils sold today are formulated as “skin-safe candle scents” — compliant for rinse-off and non-skin uses, but cut with diluents like DPG or alcohol to reduce cost and viscosity. Ours aren’t.

Why uncut, cosmetic-grade oils matter for your line

Elevated product quality. Compliant with the standards for leave-on cosmetic applications, so they hold up in high-end lotions, body sprays, and facial products.

True-to-note profile. Uncut means the truest expression of the fragrance and the scent throw your customers expect.

Cost-effective potency. A more concentrated oil means less per batch. Most products need 0.2%–5%.

Phthalate-free. A claim customers look for, and one you can make without qualification.

Guaranteed stability. We do the R&D so our oils won’t separate, cloud, or discolor our bases. Pair ours with ours and skip the compatibility testing. Using a non-EBC base? Standard stability testing still applies.

Product compatibility is not the responsibility of Essentials By Catalina, Inc. To give you a chance to evaluate the product’s performance, compatibility, and safety, we strongly advise everyone to sample before committing to larger quantities. Keep all products out of children’s reach.
