Cocina de Abuela Fragrance Oil

This is calabaza en tacha — pumpkin simmered slowly in a clay pot and glazed in piloncillo syrup — with té de canela running alongside it. It is a pumpkin scent that has nothing to do with the American pumpkin-spice accord: no nutmeg-heavy latte, no whipped cream. The sweetness comes from unrefined cane rather than sugar, which gives it a darker, more molasses-like edge.

The useful surprise is how little vanillin it carries — around 1%, an order of magnitude below the other gourmands here. That means a white lotion stays close to white, which almost no warm bakery-adjacent fragrance will do. Flashpoint sits at 194 °F, still comfortable for melt and pour.

This fragrance is new to the line and its IFRA certificate is still being finalised. We are not publishing usage percentages until it is issued — a ceiling we cannot certify is worse than no number at all.

Many suppliers sell fragrance oils cut with carrier oils or diluents to reduce cost. Ours are concentrated, pure, undiluted and cosmetic grade. A concentrated oil means a lower fragrance load per batch — a little goes a long way, and your cost per unit drops even when the per-ounce price does not.
