Give your formulation its signature scent
Solubilizer guidance: A solubilizer is needed to fully solubilize your fragrance or essential oil in this base. Pre-mix your Polysorbate 20 with your fragrance before adding it to the base — start at a 1:1 ratio and increase up to 5:1 depending on the specific fragrance. Small-batch testing is strongly recommended. If a fragrance doesn't solubilize on the first attempt, adding more Polysorbate to the already-scented base will not correct it; the pre-mix step is essential.

Mixing Recommendations
Follow these steps for consistent results
Work at room temperature
Mix within a range of 20–25 °C (68–77 °F). No heating is required.
Add your pre-mixed fragrance and additives
Mix in slowly until fully incorporated and uniform. Hand-mixing with a spatula works well, or mix directly in your container.

If you happened to forget to do the solubilizer step and mixed the gallon with fragrance oil, does it render the product unusable? I pumped out all my product, which came out clear, but the last bottle is completely hazy (which I am assuming is due to the lack of solubilizer). Is there now something missing from the clear bottles or should I get rid of the hazy product? Currently trying to find out if it would still be safe for selling. Thanks! -
Hello Taylar, if the oil was not solubilized it will completely separate out of the product over time. You can try allowing the separation to happen naturally and skim it off to try to save the base by skimming off the oil. What you are seeing in the last bottle is the separated oil, which means that each bottle has a different amount of oil added in the base, with the hazy bottle having the highest concentration. I am confused this product reads;
Fragrance Load: 0.3 – 1%
No solubilizer needed
A solubilizer, such as Polysorbate 20 Solubilizer, is needed if adding fragrance or essential oils.Please clarify if a solubililzer is needed when adding any fragrance to product.
