BTMS-50 Conditioning Emulsifier
BTMS-50 Conditioning Emulsifying Wax is known for its conditioning properties. It is safe and gentle enough for skin care, but it also forms cationic emulsions that can be used to produce creams and lotions with a soft, powdery feel. BTMS-50 is also an excellent detangler that penetrates deeply into skin and hair strands.

Storage & Shelf Life
How to keep this emulsifier stable batch to batch
Airtight container, room temperature
1 Year
Keep It Sealed
Store in the original container with the lid tightly closed, in a dry, well-ventilated place.
Melt Gently When Incorporating
This is a solid wax with an 81.5–82.7°C (179–181°F) melting point. Heat gently into the oil phase of your formula rather than adding it cold.
Handle With Gloves and Eye Protection
Avoid skin and eye contact. Wear impervious gloves and tightly fitting safety goggles when handling in concentrate.
Test Before Scaling
Run a small batch first to confirm emulsification and stability in your specific formulation before committing to a full production run.
Quality & Compliance
Regulatory status at a glance
Danger — eye damage, organ risk
Hazardous — labeling applies
> 155°C / 311°F
Very toxic short-term; toxic long-term
Not Listed
Not a skin sensitizer — human patch testing showed no sensitization. Readily biodegradable at the levels typically used in a finished formula, though the concentrate itself is classified as environmentally hazardous for shipping (marine pollutant, UN 3077) and should never enter drains or waterways.
Disclaimer: The technical specifications above reflect standard production values and may vary slightly between batches. Always conduct your own small-batch testing and stability studies before scaling up to production.
