Mixing Recommendations
Follow these steps for consistent results
Work at room temperature
Mix within a range of 20–25 °C (68–77 °F). No heating is required.
Add fragrance, colorant, and additives
Mix in slowly until fully incorporated and uniform. Hand-mixing with a spatula or an electric mixer with a paddle attachment is recommended for this base.

Shelf Life
This product has a shelf life of 1 year from the date of manufacture when stored properly.

Store in a Cool, Dry Place — Expect Seasonal Changes in Firmness
Keep containers at 60–80 °F (15–27 °C), away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Because this base contains a high percentage of natural butters, it will be firmer in cold weather and softer in warm weather — this is a normal characteristic of butters, not a defect. If the base is too firm to work with, warm it in the microwave in 30-second intervals to loosen it. If it's too soft, refrigerating the container for a day will firm it back up.

Keep Containers Sealed
Always replace lids and caps tightly after each use. Exposure to air can introduce contaminants and accelerate degradation.

Use Clean Tools
When scooping or transferring product, use clean utensils to prevent cross-contamination. Avoid reaching in with bare hands.

The frosting with butters seems thinner than the last time I got it. Did something change with the formula? -
Good Morning, Carla, that’s a great question, and one we get frequently.
Imagine a stick of cow’s butter. It is firm and hard in the fridge (winter) and smooth and creamy out on the counter (summer). Our Whipped Body Frosting with Butters base contains a 7% shea/cocoa butter blend which is very high percentage of butters. Simply put, the butters cause the base to be firm in the winter and loose in the summer.
When working with bases that contain natural components such as butters, there is no avoiding the temperature related side effects that go with it.
In the winter when the frosting is firm, we recommend melting in the microwave at 30 second intervals to achieve a smooth, creamy consistency and make filling easier. In essence, you are simply melting the butters. Likewise in the summer, the butters soften. If you desire a denser texture, simply put the container in the refrigerator for a day to allow it firm up.
If year ’round consistency is a higher priority than the moisturizing benefits of butters, I’d suggest switching to our regular Whipped Body Frosting, as it does not contain the butters and therefore will not have these temperature-related fluctuations.Hope you find this useful.

Hi Sophie, thank you for reaching out. Our recommended percentage is 1% for product that stays on skin, such as creams or lotions. If you wish to scent higher, we encourage you to do skin testing, as fragrance can be an irritant at too high a percentage.

Hello Nadiya, this is something you would need to test for stability. There is already 7% added to this base, going too high risks oil separation from the base. When incorporating butters into a cream it is best to melt the butters and mix them into a prewarmed base until fully emulsified. I hope this is helpful.
