Mixing Recommendations
Follow these steps for consistent results
Work at room temperature
Mix within a range of 20–25 °C (68–77 °F). No heating is required.
Add fragrance, colorant, and additives
Mix in slowly until fully incorporated and uniform. Hand-mixing with a spatula or an electric mixer with a paddle attachment is recommended for this base.

Shelf Life
This product has a shelf life of 1 year from the date of manufacture when stored properly.
Store in a Cool, Dry Place
Keep containers at 60–80 °F (15–27 °C), away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Avoid storing near windows, radiators, or in vehicles.

If I use a fragrance oil containing vanilla in your “Purely Mild Sulfate Free Wash Base” do i need a fragrance oil stabilizer to prevent discoloration? This product already has preservatives right? -
Hi Barb, all of our products are properly preserved, so that is not something you need to worry about. As for the use of vanilla stabilizer, that is meant to be used primarily in white products such as lotions, creams, even salts, so slow down the natural browning process of vanillin in fragrance. How it performs in a clear liquid soap is not something we’ve tested. If you choose to use it we recommend stability testing to ensure the soap remains stable after this addition.

The fragrance oils caused the ball wash to go from the lovely creamy wash to a thin watery consistency. Math is not my friend and I could have also miscalculated the fragrance load, it’s a slight chance but still possible. Can you recommend anything I can use to thicken it back up, or is this a loss and a lesson to slow my roll and test before I get carried away?

Hi KB, we recommend a 1% fragrance load in the Purely Mild which works out to about 7 drops of FO or EO to each ounce of product. It does sound like you overloaded it. You can either add more unscented soap until it reaches the correct consistency, but there is a chance it may not be fixable. Hope this helps

Hello, I’m getting that order together and have a question- If I add Calendula extract to the Purely Mild body wash base, would an ingredients read “calendula extract” or does it include the technical breakdown list of: Glycerin, Marigold Flower Extract, Chlorophenesin, Benzoic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Phenoxyethanol? Hi Heather, that’s a great question. You do have to list the INCI, so the complete breakdown. If there is a dup ingredient such as glycerin, you don’t have to list it twice. And, just an FYI, anything added at 1% or less goes at the end of the list in no particular order.
