Valentine’s Inspired Sugar Scrub Cubes Recipe
Sugar scrub cubes are a versatile skincare product that serve as both an exfoliator and cleanser. Made with pure cane sugar and melt and pour soap base, they provide a thorough clean while gently buffing away dead skin cells. This is a great project to undertake as you may already have some of the necessary ingredients on hand. And if you need any additional ingredients, we have them available for you!
Materials:
- Measuring cups/spoons
- Mixing bowls & tools
- Heat safe bowls/beaker
- Silicone mini ice cube mold
- Jars/containers to store your cubes
Let me start off by saying that you can customize this recipe to be whatever colors and/or scents you like.
In this specific recipe, I used our Damask Rose Fragrance Oil and our Casablanca Lily Fragrance Oil for scents. These two fragrances compliment each other well as they are both light, floral scents.
I also used our Liquid Pink Colorant and Liquid Cherry Colorant for Valentine’s Day.
I hope this inspires you to create something unique for your skincare line!
Instructions:
- Measure your soap base and cut into 1 inch cubes
- Measure the shea butter and place in a heat safe bowl with the soap base
- Melt the shea butter & melt and pour soap base in the microwave in 30 second increments, or in a double boiler, until completely melted
- In a large bowl, mix the sugar, fractionated coconut oil, and melted soap & butter mixture together
- Separate into 2-3 equal parts depending on how many colors you want your cubes
- Add 7 drops of fragrance for each 1/2 cup of sugar scrub mixture
- Add color a drop at a time until desired pigment is reached
- Mix until thoroughly combined and uniform in color
- Place the mixture into the molds and place in the fridge for 20-30 minutes to set
- Once set, remove the sugar cubes from the molds and place into your containers/jars. Your sugar scrub cubes are now ready for immediate use or storage!
