Welcome to our Help & Support page for the revolutionary Suspension Oil Base – your ultimate solution to the common challenges faced in crafting body scrubs. Our Suspension Oil Base effortlessly suspends your chosen additives without the headache of separation.
Additives #
To ensure optimal performance and maintain the integrity of your formulations, we highly recommend focusing on incorporating exfoliants such as sugar, ground walnuts, coffee grounds, and other specifically designed exfoliating agents. Our base has been intricately formulated to complement and enhance the exfoliation process, providing the perfect canvas for your creative expressions in body scrub formulations. We recommend starting at a 1:1 ratio of Suspension Oil Base to your exfoliant and adjusting from there depending on the consistency you want for your scrub.
If you do choose to incorporate other additives into this base for your final product, we strongly recommend that they are oil based additives only. This is because our Suspension Oil Base is a delicate blend of high quality oils and vitamins that have been carefully thickened. Adding things like more oils or butters could compromise what makes this base so great – that it doesn’t separate!
Different Exfoliants & Their Benefits #
Fragrances #
You can of course incorporate any oil soluble fragrance into your final product, but we recommend keeping it at 2% or less of added fragrance oils. Adding more than 2% fragrance oil could result in skin irritation, separation, or just an overpowering scent. Moderation is key when incorporating fragrance oils to achieve a delightful and well-balanced aromatic experience in your body scrub.
Separation #
If you are experiencing separation with your Suspension Oil Base, the most likely reason is that you’ve added too much of an additive or an additive that is not compatible. We only recommend adding exfoliants and fragrances to this base in order to maintain a consistent texture with no separation. Please see sections for “Additives” and “Fragrances” for specific recommendations on percentages to add.
Liquid - Like Consistency #
If your Suspension Oil Base has a liquid-like consistency the most likely reason is because your base is too warm. This happens with most products with an increase in temperature. Always make sure you keep your products in a temperature controlled environment in order to keep your products looking uniform and consistent.
