Let’s delve into some common problems that can occur when formulating with our Body Spray Base.
Fragrances #
- Can’t smell your fragrance – If you can’t smell the fragrance in your body spray base, first, double check your measurements to ensure you’ve added the correct amount of fragrance. If you have, you can add 1/2% of fragrance at a time until you reach your desired fragrance level. We generally recommend adding up to 5% fragrance load to our Body Spray Base. We formulate this base with a high alcohol content, which is why it may take more fragrance in order to achieve your desired fragrance level.
- Fragrance too strong – If your fragrance in your body spray base is too strong, it will be a simple fix. Simply add more body spray base and mix thoroughly until your desired fragrance level is reached.
Separating #
- Sinking – If you have ingredients sinking to the bottom of your body spray base, the likely reason behind this is the additives are not compatible. We do not recommend additives in our Body Spray Base, but if you insist, we encourage you to test in small batches in order to not waste product.
- Floating – If you have ingredients floating to the top of your body spray base, the likely reason behind this is the additives are not compatible. We do not recommend additives in our Body Spray base, but if you insist, we encourage you to test in small batches in order to not waste product.
