The Cloud Cream Body Souffle Base is a lightweight and airy moisturizer that becomes even lighter when whipped, making it a unique and enjoyable addition to your skincare routine. You can further personalize this base by adding butters, oils, colorants, extracts, and more to suit your specific needs. I have been having so much fun experimenting with this base over the past few weeks, and I cannot wait to share my findings with you. So let’s dive in and discover what makes this base so special!
Whipping
This particular base possesses a distinctive quality: its texture can be altered by incorporating air through the process of whipping. By infusing air into this base, it achieves a remarkably lighter and fluffier texture that brings genuine delight to the senses.
How to Whip it:
- Add your desired amount of Cloud Cream Body Souffle Base to a bowl
- Whisk the cloud cream with an electric mixer or simply mix by hand with a whisk
- Continue mixing until the desired texture is reached, being careful not to overmix or you risk your souffle base collapsing over time
- As a precaution, we recommend not mixing more than 5 minutes with an electric mixer on medium speed, or 10 minutes by hand
Fragrance & Essential Oils
Customizing the Cloud Cream Body Souffle Base with fragrances and essential oils is an absolute delight. This base has a very subtle scent, so even a small amount of fragrance or essential oil can make a significant impact. Additionally, there is no need for a solubilizer when adding scents, making the customization process even more effortless and convenient. We recommend using 1% fragrance in this product.
How to Add Fragrance & Essential Oils:
- Weigh your Cloud Cream Body Souffle Base
- Calculate 1% of your total weight, this will be the amount of fragrance you add to your base
- Mix your fragrance into your base with an electric mixer or by hand. If you are choosing to whip your base, continue whipping until desired consistency is met
Natural Oils & Butters
Incorporating natural butters and oils into the Body Souffle Base is another way to boost its moisturizing and hydrating properties. I have personally tried this method and the results are remarkable. However, it is important to keep in mind that the type of butters and oils you use can affect the final product. For example, using unrefined shea butter, which has a strong scent, may result in a more natural fragrance for your end product. If a higher percentage of oils is used, the final product may have a less firm consistency. As with any base, it is always recommended to test small batches before proceeding to ensure you are satisfied with the final outcome.
How to Add Natural Oils & Butters:
- Weigh your Cloud Cream Body Souffle Base
- Determine what percentage of oils and butters you would like to add. We recommend anywhere between 0-5%. Then calculate your desired percentage based off the weight of your base
- Measure your butters and/or oils. If you are incorporating butters, you should melt them before mixing them into your base in order to fully incorporate them. You can use a double boiler or microwave to melt your natural butters
- Finally, mix your butters and/or oils into your base with an electric mixer or by hand. If you are choosing to whip your base, continue whipping until desired consistency is met
Colorants
Adding colorants to the Body Souffle Base is a visually stunning experience. Our liquid colorants produce rich and vibrant colors that will leave you amazed. It is recommended to start by adding a few drops of colorant at a time until you reach your desired level of pigmentation, as this will ensure you are completely satisfied with the final product.
**Note** Our liquid colorants produce vibrant colors, but if you plan to create multi-colored products, we recommend using non-migrating colorants like Micas. Our colorants are best suited for achieving a uniform, single color in your product.
How to Add Liquid Colorants:
- Using a pipet, add a drop or two of colorant at a time to your Cloud Cream Souffle Base while mixing with an electric mixer or by hand
- Keep adding drops and mixing until your desired pigment is reached
