Gummy Soap Recipe Using Jelly Soap and Clear M&P Base

Gummy soap recipe using jelly soap and clear M&P base

Behold, the love child between jelly soap and clear melt & pour soap. Gummy Soap has a special texture that is resilient, soft, and slightly dense -the same texture as gummy candy. This soap does not need a sturdy jar to keep its shape. Biodegradable plastic bags are an inexpensive packaging solution. This recipe will make an 8-pound batch. So you will be left with a half gallon of jelly soap and 16 pounds of clear melt & pour soap. Doubling the recipe will use the whole gallon of jelly and leave 12 pounds of clear M&P.

Other Materials:

  • Double boiler
  • scale
  • gummy bear or other gummy mold

Instructions

  1. Start by weighing out the jelly soap and melting it in the double boiler.
  2. Cut up the clear melt & pour soap into half-inch cubes, and add them to the bowl of melting jelly soap.
  3. Keep the base melting on medium-low heat until everything is well melted. You may see a slight grainy texture when you stir the base, but that will be okay.
  4. Add the fragrance, glitter, and colorant. Slowly mix everything, minimizing bubbles. If the fragrance makes the base cloudy, continuously stir the base until it clears again. It should clear up after a few seconds.
  5. Pour into the mould and let the soap cool for at least an hour. If unsure if the base has settled, give the mold a gentle shake. The soap should not ripple.
  6. Finally, take the soaps out of the mold and pack them into bags.

Gummy Soap For Every Occasion.

Gummy soap doesn’t have to come in the shape of bears. You can easily make this soap to fit many occasions. Halloween, birthday parties, baby showers, and more.

We love this gummy soap recipe because of its fun and firm texture. We would describe the texture as a hybrid. Not as giggly as the jelly soap, yet not completely solid like regular melt and pour. We recommend using biodegradable bags for packaging, which take up less space and are less expensive.

Be sure to put a “Do Not Eat” Label on this soap, as delicious as it looks and smells, you don’t want your customer to eat it.
