Polyquaternium 7

Polyquaternium-7 is a clear, colorless liquid used widely in cosmetics and personal care products, including shampoos, conditioners and other hair products. Low acrylamide, paraben free, aqueous, cationic copolymer developed for improved compatibility and clarity in anionic surfactant systems.

CHARACTERISTICS

Polyquaternium 7 is an anti-static agent and film former that is found primarily in hair care products such as shampoos, conditioners, and hair sprays, but is also seen in bath soaps and cleansing products. It prevents the buildup of static electricity and forms a thin coating on the hair shaft that is absorbed by the hair, inhibiting the hair from absorbing moisture and preventing it from creating frizz. Total compatibility with non-ionic and amphoteric materials.

Usage

  • 1-4% If base already contains this ingredient keep it on the lower range. 
    Please note: We do not recommend adding additional Polyquaternium 7 to our paraben free reconstructive shampoo. It already contains maximum recommended percentage.

Additional Notes

STORAGE

Polyquaternium 7 should be stored at a temperature between 5 and 35 C°. If by accident the product freezes, thaw out by placing the container in warm water while mixing thoroughly. 

These are only suggested usage rates. Each formulation is different and you must test in small batches to find the percentages that work best for you. Always start by mixing in a low percentage, then gradually add until you reach your desired result.
