Activated Charcoal is a fantastic ingredient choice for Halloween-themed goodies; especially when you are trying to think outside of the box to come up with spooky inspired products. All the following ideas are quick to execute and perfect for creating a last-minute product. This year, think – activated charcoal for Halloween!
Activated Charcoal For Halloween – Chilling Black Shower Gel
Add Activated Charcoal to our Suspension Shower Gel for a detoxifying body wash. The suspending agent in the shower gel will cause the charcoal to disperse evenly. You only need about 0.5% to create a very dark body wash. And, fear not! Since activated charcoal is not a pigment, the body wash will not stain skin or your shower floor. Add a touch of Quick Pearl to the recipe for a “Black Pearl” effect!
You will need:
- Suspension Shower Gel Base 98.5%
- Binchotan Activated Charcoal .5%
- Fragrance Oil 1%
- *Optional* Add a touch of Quick Pearl
To make this ghoulish black body wash, simply add fragrance and charcoal to the suspension shower gel base and mix well. No heating and no appliances required. It’s as simple as that! The result is a hauntingly deep black gel. But this shower gel won’t haunt your dreams; in fact, it is good for you. Charcoal helps absorb oil and impurities, leaving skin clean and refreshed. We recommend filling this shower gel into clear bottles to showcase its beautiful ebony hue.
Spooked Up Soap
Our Black Artisanal Melt & Pour Soap Base is pitch black and is easy to melt, in any quantity. This Soap Base is made without sulfates, so it is considered non-irritating for almost all skin types. This is also one of our harder Soap Bases which means that when the soap base cools down after being melted, it will dry harder than a regular clear glycerin soap. Utilize this soap for Halloween by making spooktacular novelty soap bars in fun shapes. Black soap is perfect for creating creepy creatures such as bats, rats and spiders, or even for a devilish twist on a Jack-o-lantern face.
